Wasp & Hornet Nest Inspection and Treatment
Stinging-insect work depends on the species, nest location, access, height, structure, and activity level. Pest Logic inspects the situation first and recommends a treatment or removal approach that fits the actual nest and access conditions.

The Pest Logic approach
Identify the insect. Locate the nest.
Pest Logic looks at the insect, the active entry point, the nest location and safe access before recommending treatment.
Common situations Pest Logic evaluates
Activity may involve exposed paper nests, enclosed wall or soffit voids, ground nesting, vegetation, rooflines, sheds, or high exterior areas. The safest and most effective access plan can change substantially from one property to another.
- Paper wasps around eaves, porches, railings, and shutters
- Hornet nests in trees, shrubs, or elevated exterior areas
- Yellowjacket activity entering soil, walls, or structural gaps
- European hornet activity around voids or exterior entry points
- Recurring wasp activity around commercial entrances or outdoor-use areas
What an inspection helps determine
Pest Logic looks for the active entrance, visible nest structure, flight pattern, access limitations, and nearby people, pets, or sensitive areas. When the nest cannot be located from the initial description, an inspection may be needed before a firm removal scope can be provided.
Do not seal an active wall-void opening before the colony is addressed. Blocking the exterior route can redirect insects deeper into the structure.
After treatment
Some returning activity may remain for a period after treatment, especially when foraging insects were away from the nest. Pest Logic will explain what to expect and when continued activity should be reported.
Frequently asked questions
Can you quote a nest from a photo?
A clear photo and description can help, but height, access, species, and hidden nesting conditions may still require an inspection.
Should I spray the entrance before you arrive?
Avoid disturbing or sealing the area. Store-bought spraying can increase defensive activity or complicate the inspection.
Do you remove the nest?
Removal depends on the nest type, location, access, and whether physical removal is useful or safe after control.
